Sunday will be a day of rapid changes. A lull in the weather later in the morning will be brief: expect severe upland gales to return suddenly mid-afternoon, preceded by heavy rain and snow - the snow by late afternoon lying down to 1,000ft. Cloud base will also change quickly - breaks toward the summit will be transient, with the visibility becoming appalling in whiteout conditions in the afternoon. Due to wind chill, on the summit, it will feel as cold as minus 16 Celsius.Monday will be cold with most terrain on the mountain frozen. It will be much less windy but there may be one or two snow showers.
